Destination Wedding Cancun, Mexico
I’ve been photographing destination weddings since 2013, I’ve travelled mainly to Italy and Greece, but this year I was extremely privileged to be taken all the way to Mexico to photograph Alanna and Chris’ wedding at the Moon Palace Resort in Cancun! The fun began from the minute we boarded the bus as a group to Gatwick, with Kierra the flower girl signing and entertaining everyone all the way there!! On the morning of the flight I was joined by Laura my 2nd shooter, and we all headed to the Virgin Clubrooms for breakfast and a chill out before the flight. When we arrived at the Moon Palace Resort, we were floored by the grand foyer… crystal chandeliers, polished floors and a lovely fragrance that will stay with me forever!
We spent a couple of days heading out on excursions, swimming with turtles, climbing temples in Coba, jumping into cenotes in the jungle and seeing the sights including the Day of the Dead festival in Cancun, plus a bit of chilling by the pool and on the beach. The day of the wedding was so exciting, after a rather filling breakfast, I headed with the girls to the salon for hair and make-up, while Laura joined the boys to catch them in their special boxers!
The boys headed to the ceremony room which overlooked the beach, in golf buggies, while Alanna was transported in style by horse and carriage! It was such an emotional and beautiful ceremony, and afterwards we headed outside to the cocktail reception and a bit of fun bridal party shots on the sand. Later we walked up to the roof top terrace for the reception, and were treated to the most amazing Mexican barbecue – eat as much as you can kind of thing! After the speeches the craziness began on the dance floor, which ended at around 3am in the resort night club! Talk about aching feet!! But a completely epic day, and we loved every minute of it!!!
